Shoulder

Shoulder pain is a very common symptom. If left unchecked symptoms can affect sleep, activities of daily living as well as interfering with occupational activities and prevent the enjoyment of sports and hobbies. Most conditions if diagnosed correctly can be easily treated and can result in complete resolution of symptoms. Often simple modalities of treatment such as appropriate activity modification and physiotherapy combined with simple anti-inflammatory medication and sometimes injections of cortisone are all that may be required.

A full assessment and discussion of the causes of your symptoms combined with a workable treatment plan provide the reassuring understanding which will aid your recovery from shoulder pain.

Correct Diagnosis followed by correct treatment will often lead to a resolution of symptoms, relief of pain, and result in a return to function and activities.

Mr. Blewitt has developed an expertise in the assessment, diagnosis and management of many shoulder conditions through seeing hundreds of patients each year with shoulder problems. He is able to offer a full diagnostic and therapeutic service. Ranging from professional advice through to guided injections and keyhole surgery to open surgery and shoulder joint replacement.

Conditions treated by Mr Blewitt range from simple shoulder bursitis, calcific tendonitis, impingement and rotator cuff tear. Through to frozen shoulder, labral tear and SLAP lesions to early arthritic conditions and through to more severe arthritis requiring shoulder replacement surgery. Mr Blewitt also treats shoulder trauma including dislocation of the gleno-humeral joint and of the acromio-clavicular joint. He has also treated many shoulder fractures over the years.
